Kodaikanal is a quiet hill station sited at Palani hills in Tamil Nadu. Kodaikanal means the gift of the forest. Kodaikanal or Kodai Hills, which is popularly known as Princess of Hill Stations is truly enchanting. Its evergreen forests, tall cliffs, endless stretch of mountains and the lakes delight visitors. The sight to behold though is the 'Kurinji' flower that blossoms once in 12 years. The slopes burst in a cloud of purple in the Kurinji season, every twelve years. The hill plantain fruit and plums are copiously available in Kodai and are known for the delicious flavour and freshness.

Kodaikanal is located at an altitude of about 2133 metres above sea level. It is also famous for its world famous educational institutions. Soft, gentle mists rolling off the top of the hills cover the resort in puffy clouds. Trek up the hills and get close to nature. Learn to fish in the bubbling mountain streams or go on a boat ride in the beautiful Kodai lake.
