Kumbalgarh goes as far back as the second century AD, to the time and glory of the Mauryan Empire. Just two hours drive from Udaipur and south of Jaipur, the territory derives its name from the famed Kumbalgarh Fort, the most magnificent of the 84 forts that stood during the Mewar Kingdom.
