Spread over an expanse of 520 square kilometres in Nainital, Uttarakhand, the Jim Corbett National Park is the oldest national park in India, consisting of grasslands, a lake, riverine belts, marshy land and hills. Wildlife Safari

The tourist zones are divided into 5 safari zones namely - Bijrani, Jhirna, Dhela, Durga and Dhikala. The Sitabani zone is outside the tiger reserve. You can opt for any of the three types of safari - elephant, jeep and canter. Elephant safari only covers the Bijrani zone, while the jeep covers Bijrani, Sitabani and Jhirna, between 6.30-10am and 1.30-5pm. Durga zone requires to be separately covered via jeep.

Perhaps the best sighting of fauna happens in the Dhikala zone, where only canter safari is an option, twice a day, from 6.30-11.30pm and 12-5.30pm.
