How to Reach from Bangalore to Coorg by Road?

The Bangalore to Coorg distance is about 250 km via NH 275. The route takes you to Coorg via Mysore. It is a relatively shorter route than the alternative second route via NH 75 that goes through Channarayapatna.

While the Mysore route is usually preferred due to shorter travel time, you may face high traffic between Bangalore and Mysore, particularly around Mandya and Ramnagar. However, you can avert traffic congestion if you begin your journey from Bangalore early in the morning. The route is dotted with gas stations and eateries at regular intervals making it convenient for private vehicles to cover the distance without any worries.

The alternative route via Channarayapatna is preferred by travellers visiting areas around Somwarpet or Madikeri. The traffic on this route is relatively fast-moving than on the Mysore route. However, you’re unlikely to find good restaurants as frequently as on the first route until you reach Madikeri.

In the end, both routes have their own advantages and drawbacks. Choose the one best suited for your needs.
