Taking a time machine to the past is unfortunately impossible, but then there are places such as Akal Wood Fossil Park. A National Geological Monument, it is located about 18 km from Jaisalmer. Spanning 21 hectares, the site is full of fossilised trees, with some dating to the early Jurassic period. Chandraprabhu Temple In Jaisalmer

Chandraprabhu Temple is a 16th-century Jain temple. One of the seven temples constructed by the 8th Tirthankara, this temple shows striking craftsmanship. A serene place with a divine aura, it inspires devotion in the souls of visitors. Finely sculpted pillars form torans in the interior of the temple. You needn’t be of a pious nature to appreciate the gorgeous architecture of this temple. This is one of the must visit place in Jaisalmer for Jains.

Desert National Park In Jaisalmer

One of the biggest national parks in India, Jaisalmer’s desert park perfectly showcases the Thar Desert and its ecosystem. About 20% of the park comprises sand dunes while the rest is made up of craggy rocks, fixed dunes, and salt lake bottoms. The park is home to birds such as the Great Indian Bustard, falcons, kestrels, and eagles. You can also go on a jeep safari to explore the grand Thar for yourself.

Salim Singh ki Haveli In Jaisalmer
