Beaches you shouldn’t miss during your family vacation in Goa. Here’s a list of the best beaches in Goa, hand-picked especially for you and your family to have fun.
Candolim is the first beach you will come across from Panaji, the capital of Goa. The beach boasts great water sports and parasailing facilities. Be sure to try the Banana Tube Boat Ride, a water sport for the entire family. Another fun water sport to enjoy here is jet skiing. After you are done with water sports, there’s still the boat trip left to do with the kids!
Just like Candolim, even Calangute has its own share of water sports. Go parasailing or wind surfing with your significant other, have a sand castle competition here with your kids or just lie down and laze around. There is so much to do here! Calangute has also been called the ‘Queen of Beaches’ by many.
Colva beach is the most important beach in South Goa. Many locals and tourists come here either to take a dip in the blue sea, or soak up some sun while sunbathing. There is nothing more romantic than taking a walk on the golden sand with your significant other against the backdrop of a glorious sunset.
The Galgibaga beach in Goa is also known as Turtle beach. The beach attracts nature and animal lovers from all over. It has a protected nesting ground for the Olive Ridley turtles. These turtles are 60-70cm in length and have a heart-shaped outer shell. While here, be sure to give your little ones a peek at these adorable creatures. They will simply love this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Just like other beaches in Goa, even Galgibaga has golden-brown sand and palm trees.
In comparison to the other beaches here, Varca is a lot quieter and cleaner. It is also known to have some of the most popular resorts in the state. Gaze at the blue Arabian Sea as you all have a picnic while sitting on the powdery sand.
The best time to visit Goa is between the months of October and March. During this period the state experiences clear skies and the temperature ranges from 20°C to 32°C. If you want to experience the Goan monsoons, the months of June to September are the perfect time to visit.
Goa is well-connected to cities not only in India but also all over the world. The Goa Airport is located in Dabolim. The two main railway stations here are Margao and Vasco-da-Gama. Apart from these, there are also a number of smaller stations here. If you are driving to Goa, you may take the NH4A, NH17A, or NH17 from cities like Pune, Belgaum, Mumbai, Bangalore, and others.
Club Mahindra has beach resorts in Goa. The Acacia Palms Resort in Goa is located near Colva beach while the Club Mahindra Varca Beach Resort is located near Varca Beach. Despite not being a seafront property, the Club Mahindra Emerald Palms Resort is one of the foremost resorts in Goa near a beach. This is perfect if you want to avoid the crowds but at the same time visit the beach often. All three resorts offer fun activities in Goa like water sports, pool games, indoor games, badminton, entertainment, and a whole lot more.
